Snow’s a-coming, and so is our new snow apparel!

Sports Basement knows you’ve been eagerly anticipating a winter full of fresh powder, so we’ve been hard at work stocking up for all your cold weather excursions. With the Rockies and the Sierras already seeing their first snowfalls, now is the time to grab the gear you’ll need this season from the best brands at basement prices.

Let us be the first to say: the rumors are true. Sports Basement will now be offering Arc’Teryx softgoods! From fleece to insulated jackets to shells, we will be bringing you some of the best gear from Arc’Teryx. First off is the Stingray Jacket and Pant. The Stingray Jacket is a versatile, lightly insulated Gore-Tex 3L jacket with an athletic fit that holds in warmth while still allowing for layering and fluid motion. The Stingray Pant is the jacket’s Gore-Tex 3L counterpart, which includes awesome features like Keprotec insteps to protect your pants from skis, boots, snowshoes, and bindings. Both the jacket and pant include the Recco reflector Rescue System. For women, the Atom LT Jacket offers a lightweight, compressible Polartec hoody that is a staple in the Arc-Teryx lineup. With a wind and water resistant outer face, DWR finish, and hood designed to fit under a helmet, this insulated jacket is a must-have, whether you’re heading to work or the slopes. Rounding out their newest offers are the Delta LT Jacket, a full-zip Polartec classic micro-velour fleece, and the Covert Cardigan for men and Covert Hoody for women, two full-zip Polartec Thermal Pro sweater knit jackets with a casual design. All Arc’Teryx product is scheduled to arrive on Sports Basement shelves at the beginning of November!

If you are aiming to hit the back trails, nothing complements your Salomon nordic skis better than Salomon ski apparel. The Momentum 3 Softshell Jacket offers an optimum 3 layer windstopper front and an open back pocket to carry all your essentials on the trail. In addition, the Momentum II Softshell Pant is the perfect training pant, featuring wind protection in front and breathable fabric in back. Need that extra something to keep you toasty? Try the Swift Midlayer Hoody, a warm, soft and breathable midlayer for cold weather training. While grabbing your Nordic winter gear, remember to pick up Salomon’s Nordic Training Gloves and Hydro 45 Water Belt. Even if you’re not much of a cross-country skier, these products are still great options for all your winter aerobic activities on or off the slopes.

As you know, technologies change constantly, and Sports Basement likes to stay ahead of the curve. Among the wide array of gear we carry from Columbia, a few key pieces really highlight some of the best technology out there. For starters, Columbia’s Cubist 2.0 Jacket is a waterproof-breathable option loaded with features like an Omni-Tech exterior that blocks out the elements while offering great breathability during aerobic activity.  Inside the jacket, you’ll find Columbia’s Omni-Tech thermal reflective technology, which helps regulate temperature by reflecting and retaining the warmth your body naturally generates. On the women’s end, the Powerfly Down Jacket is pretty top-notch. An 800-fill down insulated jacket, the Powerfly also offers Columbia’s Omni-Heat, which adds about 20% greater warmth than other jackets. An Omni-Shield barrier helps to resist light rain and pesky stains. The jacket’s comfort cuffs also provide soft thermal fleece around the wrists to protect against wind and cold.

Looking to shred the fresh pow-pow this winter? Well, Sports Basement has you covered with all the best jackets and pants from brands like Volcom, Four Square, Special Blend, Quiksilver, Ride, Roxy, O’Neill, and Burton. One of the highlights from this year’s collection is the 2L Hellbrook Jacket featuring Burton’s DryRide Nanoshell tech, which offers a supremely efficient barrier against wetness. Strategically insulated for unparalleled mobility and warmth, this jacket also features removable waist and wrist gaiters. Cruising down the pipe for women is Burton’s Tabloid Jacket. This slim-fit bomber has a super plush satin lining, faux fur-trimmed hood, and 3M Thinsulate insulation.

Of course we continue to carry all the great brands you expect to see at Sports Basement. From Denalis to Triclimates, we have all the best North Face gear to bundle you up this season. Whether you’re shredding the Tahoe Peaks or walking down Market Street, light weight insulation is all the rage this year. From The North Face comes the Santiago Jacket, a highly compressible 600-fill down sweater. This jacket includes a durable nylon exterior as well as petite quilting lines that promote down shifting, which helps to eliminate cold spots. Mountain Hardwear offers the Kelvinator Jacket for both men and women, which provides a loftier hooded jacket with 650-fill goose down insulation.

Of course, you can’t go wrong with Marmot’s Zeus Jacket. A mainstay in Marmot’s collection, this light weight 800-fill goose down jacket provides great mobility along with a wind flap behind the front zipper to protect against drafts. Even better, this down jacket packs into its own pocket, so you can literally take it anywhere.

With all the best brands at basement prices, be sure to grab all your winter gear at Sports Basement.
