Halloween is less than a week away, and if you’re anything like us, you’ve been too busy enjoying the crazy October weather to put together a costume! Well, we care about you and want you to succeed, so we put together a few costume ideas using stuff that won’t just take up space in your closet after the 31st. You’re welcome.
Richard Simmons Knock-off
Nothing says style and grace better than a two-sizes-too-small tank top and an overabundance of sweatbands. You may not be able to perfect the 80′s era Simmons ‘do (can anybody? should anybody?) but you can definitely perfect his lunge technique. Grab those new running shoes you’ve been eyeing and squeeze into a tank top to make it happen.
The weather’s getting mean again in preparation for winter, so go with something that’s body-warming as well as heartwarming. Who doesn’t love the Cookie Monster? More importantly, who doesn’t love soft, comfy fleece! Sub out that cardboard cookie for a bunch of real ones and make new friends all night long.
Your Favorite Giant
Considering how excellently the Giants are playing, this should be an obvious choice. We sell all kinds of Giants gear, so you can use this as your excuse to show your pride throughout the World Series. Add in little black and white ears and some stylish face paint to be everybody’s favorite Panda!
Late 90′s era Missy Elliott (or other megastar of your choice)
There are few looks more iconic and as easy to pull off as Missy Elliott’s trademark sweatsuit ensemble. Get Supa Dupa Fly with the addition of a stupendously large gold chain (we made ours out of carabiners) and a flipped up visor (we made ours out of a flipped up visor).
The best thing about a lumberjack costume is the fact that all the components are so very re-useable. Hiking boots? What a lovely excuse to go hiking! Plaid shirt? Whyever not! Suspenders? Classy! Axe? Bring it on, zombiepocalypse!
Looking for an excuse to start stocking up on snow gear? We can totally help with that. We’re just getting in our 2013 winter stock, so you’ll have the pick of the litter for an awesome Eskimo costume! Add your little sister’s stuffed seal to complete the look.
