SB uniforms are a win-win for local teams and the community

Looking to outfit your soccer league or ultimate Frisbee team, or want to have t-shirts printed for a race or event? You know you can buy a variety of gear and apparel at the Basement, but did you know you can also order custom uniforms and apparel?

We love sports, but outfitting a team can be expensive, as SB co-founder Eric Proznitz learned while he was looking at uniforms while coaching his daughter’s soccer team in 2009. With Eric’s goal of “making uniforms affordable and easy so more kids and adults can play sports,” our uniform department was born.

Since 2009, we’ve outfitted hundreds of teams around the Bay Area, from the Mill Valley Soccer Club (our oldest customer) to South Bay cricket teams, according to SB’s uniform manager, Cynthia Lee. We offer all types of team apparel as well as sweatpants and sweatshirts, long- and short-sleeved t-shirts, jackets, and just about anything else that is printable. We also sell custom swim apparel, and we’ve provided 20 local teams with everything from suits and warmups to swim caps. We sell uniforms at wholesale, which can translate into a 40%-60% discount, a huge savings for local teams.

With such variety, we’re able to customize orders not just for sports teams, but also for any group looking to print apparel for a race or event. Our custom apparel is worn by everyone from local elementary schools to sororities and community groups. You give us a graphic, and we can print it.

But our uniform shop is about more than just the uniforms. Any team that orders a uniform qualifies for a team kickoff party in one of our stores. And we donate five percent of all uniform sales to the City Fields Foundation, which helps fund fields and other athletic space in San Francisco. SB uniforms are a win-win for local teams and the community.
